A bunch of friends and I rented a condo at Massanutten, which was cheap, about $40 a person. It had just snowed so there was a lot of fresh snow, better than last year when it was mostly manufactured.

The first couple runs we were all getting into it. The bottom few lifts make for very short runs, with a couple medium ones. We then went to the top, where 2 of the 3 blacks were, but they were really more like blues, and were pretty fun. Long, winding trails (long in the VA sense of the word, there's only 1110' vertical drop and the longest is about 4400' according to the site). Once we discovered those, we pretty much stuck to them. And towards the end of Paradice (I think) there's a big drop off where you can get some serious speed. Unfortunately some kind and I did that in front of a ski patrol guy, and we got warned. Pretty funny. Then in true ski movie style we partied super hard and won the big race, kicking the fun police off the mountain.

There's also a small terrain park with some big jumps, which were fun. Not that I can do any tricks, but still.

All in all, a good time. I recommend hitting the black runs up top, they're not scary at all.
Snow! Snow! Snow! Snow! (for Virginia)
